    Very good

    Nice, friendly staff

Factory near hotel (some noise if windows aren't closed)

    Great

Receptionist was very helpful on arrival and supplied lots of information- went out of her way to assist. She also, on request, supplied a tea- service to our room. The room was a generous size with lounge suite, table and desk. Bed comfy. Extra pillows supplied on request. Nearby supermarket.

Lovely view but nearby factories seemed to work around the clock and ear- plugs required unless very sound sleeper.

    Great

We were a little alarmed when we pulled up outside of this hotel as it looked rather run down and there was a factory sited right next door to it. However, looks can be very deceptive, and the inside of the hotel is very nice indeed, has recently been rennovated and is a comfotable, clean, boutique hotel! Our room was very spacious and we had beautiful views over the mountains and fjord. Our room was furthest away from the factory and we were not disturbed by it at all. There was little to do in the town itself but as we were only staying overnight this was not an issue for us. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

    Nice

Food was very good. View was incredible of the Fjord. The history of the location and the building was very interesting. We used the hotel as a base for hiking to Troll's Tongue, and exploring the Hardanger region.

As with most things in Norway, the price of the room and food was astronomical. The noise from the Metallurgy Factory was bothersome at night and the factory itself, although interesting was not very appealing to look at.

    Very good

The hotel is housed in an old building, preserving its original feeling and great elegance. Our room was huge and included sofas and tables. The bathroom was big as well. The dining room is excellent and there are some nice rooms with tv, bar etc. All the hotel is decorated with paintings from Nils Bergman, a famous norwegian painter. The atmosphere is great, it is really a good choice if your looking for a refined setting. Maybe it won't fit the tastes of the youngest since it definitely does not feel modern at all (even if all the required facilities such as wifi are present)

Breakfast was not very rich. The hotel is situated near an industrial complex, definitely not good looking (but at least not noisy). The century- old atmosphere might look a bit spooky. The hotel is definitely overpriced.

    Perfect

The rooms are simply enormous. The view from our window was absolutely great. There are beautiful paintings everywhere – in the halls, in the restaurant, even in the room. It gives you an atmosphere of a museum. The staff is very friendly. The parking lot is pretty big and the breakfast was very good. One could complain for the price but I won'T. I think the hotel is very conveniently located and the prices in all hotels in this area are pretty high. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to this part of Norway.

    Nice

When we arrived we wondered what to expect as the hotel was next door to an iron smelting factory, and we weren't sure if it was altered from a working building or built as a large house. Inside was very different to what we expected: airy, modern and comfortable. The room was very large and clean - were we upgraded as the hotel was almost empty? The bathroom was also very large. The evening meal was good.

The tiled bathroom floor was gritty so not sure how clean it was, and several lamps had gone. The breakfast was very poor. Little choice and the supposedly 'hot' dish was cold. There is no lift so we had to carry our suitcases upstairs ourselves.

The buffet breakfast was good. Great coffee in Norway! The room was spacious and we liked that we could open the windows. The view was very nice. The staff was very helpful!

There is a noisy factory and stevedore in the vicinity working day and night, seriously disturbing all guests of the hotel

The view from the hotel is fantastic. They also had some beautyful painting by famous Norwegian masters from the 19th century.

Our room was classified as a suite. It proved to be a regular double room with an oversized bathroom with bubble bath tub. There was a lack of attention to details. The room had one bath robe for two people. There were two big candle sticks with candles, but no matches. There were no minibar, fridge or glasses in the room. We stayed on the second floor without elelvator.

    Great

The hotel location was breathtaking. No words will do it justice. The surrounding area is very picturesque. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Definitely worth the stop and overnight stay at this hotel. I will never forget the beautiful location.

No elevator, so if you're like me and your luggage weighs a ton.......well, get your muscles ready. Luckily there's only a couple of flights of stairs.

    Very good

    Great
